The Jawbone Collective

Driven by the Power of Words - A Not for Profit CIC with a Big Vision.
The Jawbone Collective was founded on the idea of building confidence in creatives to help enable them celebrate and share their work with a wider audience through publication and performance.
Our community organisation promotes creativity in the Southwest of England. To date we have published collections for ten authors, run a series of development workshops for The Jawbone Collective, Schools, Museums and other Arts Organisations. We also run ongoing, regular spoken word events both in person and online.
We believe that poets can ‘emerge’ at any age and believe the quality of our Author’s work speaks for itself. Each poet we have published has gained confidence and used their books to finance and promote their craft. Each has contributed to events in their own area and gone on to establish other events, be commissioned to produce work, promote work through other mediums, and establish themselves through competitions, slams and public broadcast.
We plan to publish collections for six new authors in the coming year, four by selection two by competition… We attend many live and zoom events throughout the region scouting for extraordinary talent that the world needs to read, hear, watch and learn from. We offer publishing and much needed support, matching the Poets dedication to their craft with our philanthropic vision.
It costs approximately £1,200 to bring a new writer from our initial approach through to final publication. The continuance of this project is dependent on the support of Creative Members by donations of Time, Soft Skills and Talents. Book Sales, Donations, Sponsorship, Grants and Bursaries from Businesses and Arts Organisations.
